Lithuanian Customs will focus more on riskier export procedures
2023 09 13Please be informed that from 11 September this year, the Lithuanian Customs will tighten the conditions for the export procedure when goods are declared by a person from another Member State.
According to the EU regulation, the export procedure is possible if:
- The exporter is a company registered in Lithuania;
- The goods are packed and loaded in Lithuania.
From 11 September, in order to implement the sanctions against Russia and Belarus, customs authorities will be required to provide documents proving that the goods are packed and loaded. It is important that the actions are based on real circumstances and are not formalistic. Documentation will also be required if the exported goods were purchased in Lithuania.
